About The Posse
The Pioneer Posse was organized in 1947 as a support group for the Milton-Freewater Pea Festival, a community celebration which included a horse show and parade. The Pioneer Posse is truly a Family Organization. The children who grew up competing on these grounds - now watch their children and grandchildren compete for one of the treasured "Posse Series Buckles". Dedicated volunteers have been and still are the backbone of the Pioneer Posse. The Posse puts on various events throughout the year, and sponsors scholarship programs for it's members. The Posse also encourages horseback riding to foster good horsemanship and traditional family values.
